Merchant Agreement

1. Merchant Eligibility

To use Backshop as a vendor, merchants must:

  • provide accurate business information
  • comply with local laws
  • sell legal products and services

2. Merchant Obligations

Merchants agree to:

  • accurately represent products
  • fulfill customer orders promptly
  • communicate professionally with customers
  • handle refunds or disputes responsibly

3. Payments

Backshop may provide tools to facilitate payments, but vendors are responsible for receiving and managing their funds.

4. Store Verification

Backshop may offer verification for stores that submit valid business documentation.

Verification does not guarantee product quality or vendor performance.

5. Merchant Conduct

Merchants must not engage in:

  • fraudulent activity
  • misleading product listings
  • illegal sales
  • deceptive marketing

Backshop reserves the right to suspend or terminate violating merchants.

6. Merchant Fees

Some Backshop features may require a monthly or annual subscription fee.

Merchants agree to pay applicable subscription fees in order to access premium features of the platform.

Payments may be made via bank transfer or through supported payment providers such as Paystack.

Failure to maintain an active subscription may result in limited access to certain platform features.

7. Merchant Indemnification

Merchants agree to indemnify and hold Backshop harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or legal expenses arising from:

  • products sold by the merchant
  • misleading product descriptions
  • customer disputes
  • violation of laws or regulations.

8. Account Suspension

Backshop reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • violate platform policies
  • engage in fraudulent activity
  • sell illegal or prohibited products
  • harm the integrity of the platform.
